This roof terrace was constructed using Ipe Hardwood. Some call this the ‘Rolls Royce’ of decking timbers. The finish is very sharp, and will retain this great finish as there is very little natural movement with Ipe. Previously this roof terrace was an unattractive and very dangerous area with a feeble balustrade and several levels. Now, with a well built deck the client is able to let her small child play outside without any fears. At Greater London Decking we strive to maximise the potential of your outdoor space – because in London outdoor space is precious!

The
fact that Ipe deck board is so hard (the hardest timber
in the world) means there is very little chance of
damaging your investment. High heels, children’s toys,
bikes etc pose no problem for this ‘king of deckboard’.

These clients were very specific about
the extras they wanted on the deck. A large storage area
on the left can also double as a sun-lounger. Also
required was a large planter in the corner, big enough
to hold a large tree, possibly citrus. Small hardwood
planters attached to the hand-rail will hold small herbs
like rosemary and parsley. Finally, to the left of the
chimney is a built in barbeque. The top and the front
can open giving the chef plenty of access to create some
hearty summer cuisine!
