This raised decking project in Islington utilised the available
space extremely well. The area is nicely sheltered and a natural
sun-trap - perfect ingredients for a great deck. The treads on the
stairs were left open so light can still reach the window below. The
timber is Yellow Balau - hardwood - and it has a glossy finish from
the coat of oil we applied just after completion.
This is an example of the standard balustrade system we use at Greater London Decking (square modern look) with a flat top; wide enough to rest a cool drink on those warm summer nights. But as with most of our decking extras, we are adaptable to specific client requirements when necessary.
The screening above the brick wall on this project was more to train roses along than for privacy, another example of our adaptability when it comes to decking extras.
