Here is a classic example of an inexpensive yet effective decking
system. The timber is European Redwood (softwood) and the design,
simple yet tasteful. Because of all the overhanging trees it was
advised that a smooth deck-board should be used as opposed grooved.
One decking extra on this job is the built in vegetable garden
made from railway sleepers on the right-hand edge. This way the
client is able to harvest fresh herbs and vegetables without having
to walk across the wet grass.
The European Redwood will soon fade and end up a lovely, earthy
silvery grey and once the new French doors are fitted the back of
the house will look great!
